Description: This portrait depicts two uniformed men
bearing the initials "PB" on their collars, indicating their
affiliation with Pakoe Boewono. They served as kraton
(royal palace) soldiers in the court of Soerakarta (Solo),
Central Java. Each man wears a numbered placard on
his chest, likely part of a palace registry or identification
system. The photo was likely created for official purposes.
The reverse side includes the names of the men and the
dates 20/5/1918 and 21/6/1919.
